Surviving Your Home Remodel
Home remodeling is a difficult and stressful period even if you don’t have to live in the house or the apartment that is being renovated – the stress is multiplied if you have to manage the remodeling process during the day and spend the rest of the day in the mess caused by the renovation. However, lots of people have managed to stay sane throughout the process – according to Fort Collins construction remodeling experts, here are a few tips that helped them:
- Pack all the items that you can do without and move them to the basement or to a temporary storage facility to make space for the remodeling work;
- Do one room at a time – if you decide to demolish the kitchen, the bathroom and the living room at the same time, you only make your troubles worse. Tackle only one room, one project at a time and move systematically from room to room;
- Have one room to live from – create a living space where there is no dust, dirt and mess from the renovation;
- Do some cleaning every day – just grab a broom and clean up most of the dust and debris generated during the day. Regular cleaning makes the mess more bearable and will also reduce the quantity of allergens around you.
